Little India had been on our schedules as a KIV for some time and it was finally fulfilled on Saturday. Decided to have Indian cuisine for lunch together and shir recommended a restaurant called Gayatri with the most awesome food. N surprise surprise, Esther actually turned up!! =D

Im not exactly a huge fan of spice but the food there was just the right spiciness and the spices didn't smell too strong unlike at some other places. We ordered fish, chicken and mutton briyani(that's fantastic with the pappadum and curry), cheese, garlic and plain naan, mutton vindaloo, prawn masala and for dessert we had mango kulfi, payasam and pista kulfi. Sounds pretty exotic huh? Minyu was like 'let's get the dishes with weird names that we don't understand!'. It's fun to try to new dishes and the food really was surprisingly yummy=D Only the payasam, a warm vermicelli in a sugary syrup dessert, tasted seriously weird. Best thing is, the whole meal only costs about $58 for 7people! That's totally worth it!

Went walking around the Little India but it didn't take long to cover the area. No wonder it's called LITTLE India. Got myself new bangles for just $3! Lots of textiles and spices shop and the veg stalls have really fresh vegetables and fruits i was tempted to buy some succulent tomatoes back for my mum. And well, the smell isn't that bad after all. =p

Traveled to Haji Lane after that to see my cousin's newly renovated shop but the stuff was kinda pricey and he wasn't around to give discounts=p Haji Lane was disappointing; nothing really caught my eye and i guess the novelty wore off since i've been there not that long ago. All of us left empty handed. =(

Walked back to bugis junction and since us ladies were wearing painful shoes(wonder why we torture ourselves so) we took a break at J CO's cafe. It's complete bliss to sink into the sofa drinking iced latte and chomping a doughnut after a whole afternoon of walking! And it felt really really good just sitting there chillin' out, talking about nothing in particular and getting entertained by marv and binks. It's just really really comfortable and happy=D

Did a spot of shopping at Bugis Street and then dined at NYDC together. Talk about a day of good food man! We shared 4 main courses and 1 NYDC Celebration which is disappointingly small and unsatisfying. Oh well, i guess nothing can beat the Breeks Massive Attack for now!

>>>Everytime i eat good food i feel guilty; because i wish my parents can get to enjoy them too.

Food on my mind?
