BACK FROM CAMP!!

Ignite Change 2010 was awesome=) Basically it's like a volunteering camp since we're visiting beneficiaries almost every day and I think the main com did a great job integrating volunteering into our activities. Like we brought the Hearing Impaired kids to the Science Centre, flying kites at Marina Barrage with the FOC and performing our JUSTICE BAO skit for the elderly at AWWA. All the volunteering really brings back fond memories when i was a leo! Honestly as a PD, interacting with the beneficiaries took a backseat when i had to be coordinating and leading and ensuring the activities went well, so it felt wonderful being back to square one; volunteering straight from the heart and bringing smiles to the benes' faces=) Gotta say interacting with them was relatively easy for me since i've got experience but still it was a learning process since it was the 1st time i met the blind, the hearing impaired and the intellectually disabled and there are differences in the way to approach them. It made me pretty inspired to get back into volunteering again!

Justice Bao was fantastic too! Love my og mates ^.^ Im glad to meet like-minded people who wanna try out volunteering and im learning alot from the seniors who are in WSC. The people in my OG are pretty decent fun people and we crack alot of jokes together.

Thanks to Vincent for being such a capable dance partner (and the only guy to take off shoes for me for the caterpillar fight); though our og still sucked at least we had fun!

Thanks to the girls for the HTHTs, the bed-sharing and companionship on long bus rides.

Thanks to the dudes for your overwhelming concern ( You ok mah? Don't emo leh! via Weijie & WC =.=) , the lame jokes and the gentlemen-liness @ getting our f&b and rolling in the crap first.
Nice to have such gung-ho people around!

Thanks to the GLs and SAs who took really good care of us. I love whoever that responded to my craving for milo!! Really appreciate the suppers, the Koi bubble tea and the Macs.

Oh ya, and thanks to ZX for being a nice Secret Pal who guided me pretty well when we're blindfolded and keeping your hands mostly to yourself even though we're forced to do lots of touchy stuff. Nice chap=)

All in all, a really fun relaxing camp with nice people all around! IGC 2010 FTW!!
