Staying Sane in this Insane World.

Reflections are meant to be done on New Year's Eve, but better late than never! 2010 has been a fabulously exciting and enriching year and im hoping that 2011 will be even better ;)

Major events of 2010:

1) First job ever @ TCC, then at SGH and NTUC Income

2) Took up tuition; had 4 adorable kids whom i hope are still doing well

3) Got enrolled into NTU; a whole new world

- freshmen orientation camps (Hall 2 & WSC); my first taste of campus life, meeting new friends who became best buds/mentors/chicas. Bao Baos will always have a special place in my heart for being my very first social support, and being the people i can be myself with :)

- Totally new learning experience at NBS, slowly figuring my way around with the help of new friends and course mates. Struggling through lectures and tutorials weren't pretty, but after all, learning is a continuous process, and im thankful i picked a course that im interested in. Projects are fun when u've got great group mates to rely on and work with :)

- hall life; hectic, exciting, tiring, madness, independence. Night turns into day, and there are non-stop activities. I enjoy the hustle and bustle, and the feeling that i belong to this close-knit community. Im thankful for having a supportive and crazy roomie that keeps me company and share secrets with ;)

It's been a truly eventful year, starting with a jittery first job experience and then loads of hanging out, shopping and having fun with friends post-A's while working. Working was good exposure to the world out there, be it through gaining practical experience or seeing the darker world of office politics. Im thankful i met nice superiors who were always understanding and encouraging. Special mention of Han Kiat @ SGH, who truly was an inspiring mentor, giving me opportunities to shine and educating me beyond work. Earning my own keep is a good feeling! Independence, yo!

After a relatively relaxing first half of 2010, the later half was utter madness and chaos. Went through a confusing registration and enrollment, went for the most fun camp experiences ever and made a whole load of new friends. Time passes so fast when u're having fun, and life was a total blur. In fact, 1 sem simply flew past already! Amazing huh. I guess i settled into uni life pretty smoothly, thanks to the help and guidance of fellow friends and seniors :) Hall activities and socializing events honestly took up a lot of time, perhaps a bit too much. Looking back, i did become overly involved in too many activities, at the expense of family time and meeting up with old friends. I used to think it'll be easy catching up, but i realized it really is hard meeting up with old friends amidst all the activities, n i feel guilty for not putting in enough effort :X

In the New Year...

Need to devote more time and effort to studies instead of hall. Really looking forward to the production in march, but gotta balance hall prod duties with academics. I dun wanna end up with a lousy GPA! Need to spend more time with family, take time to accompany Aunt Monica. Need to stay committed to old friends! Greater effort in maintaining contact! Need to adopt a healthier diet and lifestyle: more sleep and exercise(promise promise)!!

LEARN TO SLOW DOWN-- realize that my pace of life is pretty fast; people are always saying im so busy. Reflecting, i do tend to plan a lot of activities and spend time outside. Tend to say ok too easily cos' i try so hard to meet the expectations/ requests of people. Need more time to myself!!
